RW Collins Company Safety Programs:

At R.W. Collins Company, we know that a successful safety program requires hard work, dedication and daily practice in all aspects of our operation. Our goal is accident-free projects. In order to accomplish this goal, our commitment to our safety program goes well beyond basic compliance. The following are key elements of our safety program:

MANAGEMENT INVOLVEMENT
Safety is the number one priority at R.W. Collins Company. We are committed to the safety of our employees, other contractors’ employees at our jobsites and the general public. Our Experience Modification Rate (EMR) is well below the industry average and the owners and managers of R.W. Collins Company play an active role in that commitment to safety in order to keep our workplace accident-free.

EMPLOYEE SAFETY TRAINING
All field employees and management have 40 Hour Hazmat training and 8 Hour Annual Refreshers. In addition, we support our employees by providing in-house training specific to our industry. This training includes, but is not limited to, monthly safety meetings with a third party trainer which address topics regulated by OSHA. Each employee also maintains a Health and Safety Plan manual which outlines the specifics of R.W. Collins Company’s safety regulations and guidelines including proper use of company-provided personal protective equipment. Our Health and Safety Program has received 100% compliance from National Compliance Management Service, Inc. (NCMS), the agency which handles contractor monitoring for the oil and gas industry.

Employees working in hazardous conditions undergo semi-annual medical monitoring and all other employees undergo annual medical monitoring. While medical monitoring is intended to detect potential work-related health issues, it has also been helpful in keeping our employees aware of non-work related health risks.

Our employees also attend various client-sponsored safety workshops in order to assure that client-specific needs are being met.

PRE-JOB SAFETY ANALYSIS

A Site Safety Plan is written by supervisors for each new project and is posted at each jobsite. In addition to potential hazards, the Site Safety Plan prominently displays emergency information including fire, police and hospital numbers.

“Tool Box Talks” are conducted daily or weekly, as required by site conditions and/or duration of the project. Active dialogue is encouraged by all employees to address the potential safety considerations of a particular jobsite.

By making safety a habit, we aim to give each employee the knowledge and power to analyze, strategize and implement a safe working environment.

THIRD PARTY SAFETY AUDITS
On a regular basis, R.W. Collins Company hires a third party auditor to perform formal safety audits. They furnish a report for each inspection which includes photographs and observations of work practices. Random audits are also performed by R.W. Collins Company management.

SAFETY INCENTIVE PROGRAMS
An employee incentive safety award program has made a marked impact on employee involvement and dedication to ongoing safety practices. Employees who are accident-free can earn monetary awards as well as safety points which accrue and can be redeemed for merchandise.

NEAR-MISS ACCIDENT REPORTING
Management is committed to accident prevention. We have a willingness to address what are referred to as “Near-Misses,” and to treat them as though they had actually happened. This procedure involves a thorough investigation of what may have led to an actual accident. As a result, all appropriate actions for prevention of accidents in the future are put in place. At R.W. Collins Company, we’re committed to deliver a higher standard of safety performance to the unique challenges of your job.
